The small molecular structure of glycolic acid allows it to penetrate the skin more readily, allowing it to work deep within the pores. Glycolic acid loosens the build up of dead skin cells and oils to help reduce blackheads and breakouts.The exfoliating action of glycolic acid removes old skin cells, helping to reduce pigmentation for a more even skin tone. Glycolic acid has also been shown to stimulate collagen production, which will help reduce the appearance of fine lines.Glycolic acid also improves absorption of other ingredients, like retinol or vitamin C, enhancing their effect on the skin.
