Description These dressings, which come in a range of shapes and sizes, combine a thinner foam that is conformable to wear with the gentleness of a silicone adhesive for minimal pain on removal.
ALLEVYN triple-action technology maintains the optimal balance in fluid for moist wound healing. The thinner foam core ensures excellent flexibility so the dressing moulds to the body, even awkward areas which provides a comfortable fit for patients. Showerproof dressing allowing patients to shower with the dressing in place which helps to improve their quality of life. Easy to apply and remove – the dressing can be lifted and repositioned without losing adhesion. Suitable for use on people with fragile skin. Bacterial barrier – which helps to minimise the risk of infection from external contaminants. Up to 7 day wear time.
Ingredients Hydrocellular foam core and a gentle silicone adhesive.
Direction Clean the wound: Wash your hands thoroughly before and after treating the wound. Gently clean the wound and surrounding skin with water and remove any debris.
Prepare the skin: Ensure the skin surrounding the wound is clean, dry, and free from excess hair. If necessary, trim any excess hair close to the wound.
Choose the right size: Select a dressing that overlaps the wound edges by 2-3 cm.
Open the packaging: Carefully open the dressing pouch by peeling apart the flaps.
Apply the dressing:
Start removing the backing paper from the dressing, exposing the adhesive side.
Anchor the adhesive side of the dressing to the skin, ensuring the absorbent pad covers the entire wound area.
Smooth the dressing over the wound, removing the remaining backing paper.
Ensure the dressing is flat against the skin, with no creases, and that it is adhered all around the wound.
Repositioning: The dressing can be lifted and repositioned if needed without losing its adhesive properties.
Shower: The dressing is showerproof, allowing patients to shower with the dressing in place.
Removal: To remove the dressing, lift one corner and slowly peel it back until it is completely removed.
Infected wounds: If the dressing is used on infected wounds, the infection should be managed according to local clinical protocols.
