Community pharmacies across Australia have kept their doors open during the COVID-19 pandemic to support their patients.
Community pharmacy is an essential part of the Australian health care system and are a critical partner in providing access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccinations to everyone in Australia seeking to be vaccinated. Prizer COVID-19 vaccines can now be administered in select pharmacies across Australia.

Who is eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccination?
The Australian Government has committed to providing the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to Australian citizens, permanent residents, refugees, asylum seekers and temporary or bridging visa-holders if they wish to be vaccinated.
1st and 2nd Dose - COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccinations are available for customers aged 12 years and up for their first and second dose.
Booster - COVID-19 Pfizer Booster Shots are available for customers aged 18 years and up.
What is the recommendation for Immunocompromised individuals?
The ATAGI recommends a third primary dose of COVID-19 vaccine in severely immunocompromised individuals. The recommended interval for the 3rd dose is 2 to 6 months after the 2nd dose of vaccine.
An mRNA vaccine, Pfizer or Moderna, is preferred for this 3rd dose however AstraZeneca can be used in certain circumstances.

Is the COVID-19 vaccination safe in pregnancy?
Comirnaty (Pfizer) and Spikevax (Moderna) vaccines are recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women and those planning a pregnancy. Women can receive the vaccine at any stage of pregnancy.

Do you have a Medicare Card?
Individuals who meet the current eligibility criteria for the COVID-19 vaccine and who don’t have a Medicare card will now be able to receive their FREE vaccine at their local community pharmacy.
