Can I phone and directly talk to a pharmacist?Yes, our pharmacists are here to help. You can call and talk to a pharmacist from one of our Direct Chemist Outlet Stores.

Why do some items need prescriptions when I can get them over the counter at my local pharmacy?Australian legislation requires personal counseling by a pharmacist on sale of a “Pharmacist Only Medication” item. As our online pharmacy does not provide this, a prescription is required to enable a Pharmacist to provide appropriate counseling.
Can I fax my prescription to Direct Chemist Outlet?No, under Australian Legislation we are unable to accept faxed or emailed prescriptions in Australia at this stage. The original must be received before we can dispense and send and prescription items.
Can I purchase more than one supply of a Pharmacy Medicine in one order?In store, Pharmacy Medicines are kept in the Professional Service Area which is in view of the Pharmacist.
As there is no Pharmacist present during online transactions, we can only supply a limit of 1 per order.
This is in accordance with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Can Direct Chemist Outlet keep my prescription repeats on file to save me some time next time I place an order?Yes, you will need to include a note stating that you give Direct Chemist Outlet permission to keep your repeats on file, or select the option when ordering a prescription online. The next time you place an order, we will automatically match up the repeats with the order.

Is it possible to order more than one lot of a PBS item at a time?Under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), the Australian Government subsidises many medicines so that all Australians can have access to affordable prescription medicines. There are restrictions on how frequently these medications can be dispensed. As this varies among items, you can check with your pharmacist as to the time interval on each particular product. The time interval is 21 Days, in most cases and any item dispensed before this time interval are generally not covered under the PBS.
Can I return prescription medicine or any preparation for oral use for a refund?No. Due to Health regulations, medicines including any preparation that is taken orally cannot be returned for credit as once the product has left the pharmacy, the storage conditions of the product and the efficiency cannot be guaranteed.
Can I purchase more than one supply of a prescription medicine in one order?No. We cannot supply increased amounts, unless your doctor has endorsed your script "Regulation 24" or has written the prescription for the increased quantity.
Do I need a prescription to order "Prescription Only Medicines"?Yes, all "Prescription Only Medicines" require a prescription from an Australian registered doctor before we can supply through our online store.
Can I use Afterpay to pay for my prescription?No, Afterpay cannot be used to pay for prescriptions.
