Will community pharmacist immunisers be able to administer the COVID-19 vaccine?
Community pharmacies are a critical partner in providing access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines to everyone in Australia seeking to be vaccinated. Community pharmacists will be vaccinating patients from Phase 2a of the national vaccine roll-out strategy, which is anticipated to occur in 2021.
Who is eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccination?
The Australian Government has committed to providing the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to all Australian citizens, permanent residents, refugees, asylum seekers and temporary or bridging visa-holders if they wish to be vaccinated.
Is the COVID-19 vaccination safe in pregnancy?
Currently the COVID-19 vaccine is not for use in children aged under 16 or pregnant women. This recommendation may change as new evidence emerges.
